Dad and I got to go to a Husky football game last weekend with his boss. It was so AWESOME! And it was in the brand new stadium at UW. Very cool.
The Huskies were playing the Idaho State Bengals, so at the game, I drew a picture of a tiger and put a big fat X through it.
Do you like the cool stickers under my eyes? They're like the ones the players wear to keep the sun out of their eyes. And that cool hat I'm wearing is my empty popcorn container. The three kids behind me are Dad's boss' sons. They were so much fun to play with. Poor Dad didn't get to watch a ton of the game, because he and his boss had to try and keep tabs on us.
The Huskies beat Idaho State by A LOT. Go Huskies!!! I loved going to my very first football game and can't wait to go to another. But it sure was exhausting cheering for my team.

Starring Peyton
This post is loaded with pics cuz I know my family is dying to see tons of Peyton. So brace yourselves.
We'll actually start with a few of Syd. Grandma and Aunt Kari were here for a long time to help Mom with Peyton. I was in school all day so I didn't see them much, but Syd sure got a lot of play time with them.
After school on a really hot day, I got to play sponge bombs with Aunt Kari.
Of course, they also had lots of chances to hold Peyton since she will cry if you put her down.
Syd loves to hug and kiss Peyton.
And we love to hold her, even when she's crying.
We both try to keep Peyton entertained and happy.
And Syd has started practicing her Mommy skills since that's what she wants to be when she grows up.
Peyton loves to cuddle with Mom.
Dad has already introduced her to Slurpees.
Fun pics of Peyton:
hmmm, I just realized that most of them are with Daddy.
Peyton's umbilical cord finally fell off and she had her first bath. She loved it.
Of course, Syd and I were so excited to help.
We sure do love our new baby sis!

The First Few Days
Peyton is two weeks old now and we are loving having her in our family. We have a gazillion pictures to download from the camera, but here are a few from her first five days of life.
I have tried to be very helpful. I got Sydney's old crib mobile out of storage, turned it on, and held it up over Peyton's bouncer so she would stop crying. It did the trick.
Sydney has also been trying to stay busy.
Grandma de Jong came to help out the day after Peyton was born and she stayed for a whole week. She had fun playing with us and cuddling with Peyton.
Peyton had her first big diaper blowout so Mom and Grandma washed her off in the sink. You can't tell by her face, but she loved having the warm water running on her. She stopper crying immediately.
Mom and Dad are definitely outnumbered now. Here's Dad doing double time:
Cuddle time with Mom:
Hangin' out in her bouncer/bed.
Peyton sleeps a ton! She doesn't cry nearly as much as Syd and I did. Of course, she has her ups and downs, but when Peyton sleeps for three hours at a time, it sure makes life easier on Mom and Dad.

First Day of First Grade
I have been waiting all summer for school to start. I couldn't wait to start first grade and go to school all day. And the week before school started I found out that I got the teacher I really wanted. So I was super excited for the first day of school.
Mom made my favorite banana chocolate chip muffins for breakfast and put up cool decorations again. She even made her own chalkboard out of an old picture frame! And my placemat was like a chalkboard to draw on.
Traditional first day of school pic by the rhododendron:
Waiting to go into my new classroom:
My desk is in the very front of the classroom and I'm sitting next to my friend from t-ball.
The first day of school was a little rough because it felt so long. But every day since then has been awesome! I love first grade!
And don't worry, more pics of Peyton will be coming soon.

Introducing.....
Peyton Ellis
born August 31st at 1:18pm
8 lbs. 13.5oz
20.5 inches
Ready to head home:
Sydney and I love to hold and hug and kiss Peyton. The first few days, she only wanted to be held and didn't sleep unless someone was holding her--sounds a lot like me and Syd when we were newborns. But now she has settled down and will sleep on her own for a few hours at a time--as long as she has a super full tummy. Peyton LOVES to eat. We can't believe she's only a week old today! It seems like she's been a part of our family forever.
