Puppy love

Last time I visited Grandma and Grandpa de Jong in October, this was as close as I got to Uncle Mark's dog Cujo:

Refer to post Man's best friend for more details and video.

This time, things were different. Cujo still wasn't thrilled to see me, but he actually let me pet him!!! It was so much fun to run my hands through his thick fur. He sure is a nice dog.

Bubbles and Sand

Mommy and I are visiting Grandma and Grandpa de Jong in California right now. It's really warm and sunny here so we went to the park today. Grandma blew bubbles with me. I had never seen bubbles before. They float in the air and land on the ground, but when you try to touch them, they disappear!!!!

I also discovered this cool stuff called "sand." You can pick it up and it falls right through your hands.

It also gets between your toes, down your shirt, in your hair,

and sometimes in your mouth (if you put it there).

But the neat thing is that it all just brushes off you when you're done playing with it!

Happy Easter!

On Saturday we went to Aunt Danielle's and Uncle Eric's house for a BBQ and Easter egg hunt. I got to play outside for two whole hours because the weather was so nice. And Aunt Dani lives near the airport so I got to see a ton of planes flying overhead which I love!

You can't see the plane in the picture, but I promise you it's there.

After we all ate, the kids had an Easter egg hunt. I'm not sure what that is exactly, but they were all carrying baskets and running around the yard picking bright plastic eggs off the ground and out of trees and bushes. I preferred to hang back and watch them run around while chewing on a tasty Laffy Taffy. (Did you know that if you suck on the wrapper of a Laffy Taffy long enough, the end will open just enough to let some of the yummy stuff out?)

My Easter suit

Grandma and Grandpa de Jong bought me this suit and I'm finally able to fit into it. I got to wear it for Easter and felt like quite a big boy. Mommy and Daddy tried to get some pictures of me before church, but I wasn't in the mood to stand still. They had to bribe me with some candy and then Mommy hid in another room and snapped a picture as I came around the corner. They are so sneaky!

Candy! Candy! Candy!

While I was napping after church, the Easter Bunny visited our house. I'm not sure who that is, but he sure is nice! He left me a basket full of candy and a new toy!

The candy was way better than the spaghetti Mommy tried to feed me for lunch.

Even though I thought I could eat it all myself, I made sure to share some of my candy with Mommy and Daddy.

I love to play outside. Winter is such a bummer because it's always rainy and cold.

Mommy, why can't I go outside??? I don't mind if my clothes get wet and my shoes get muddy.

Thank goodness Spring is practically here. That means more sunshine and more time OUTSIDE!!!!

In the meantime, I guess I will have to be content with playing inside.

Sick....AGAIN!

Mommy and Daddy had some friends over on Saturday night and our family and both of those families ended up getting sick. Mommy's stomach felt all wonky on Monday, but I was the only one who actually threw up. Yuck! I hope that never happens again.

Notice the wet spot on Mommy's jeans, courtesy of me...Luckily it was just a short-lived bug and after throwing up a dozen times in a few hours on Monday night, I was all better by Tuesday morning.

Bath time????

Why am I stuck in the tub with my clothes on and no water????

This is why:
Daddy was painting again. He and Mommy have been painting upstairs for the past few weeks. Usually Mommy waits until I'm napping so that I don't get in her way. But when Daddy is ready to paint, he doesn't like to wait, so I ended up in the bathtub to keep me out of his way. Daddy can get pretty creative when it comes to keeping me away from his wet paint. African boy

Aunt Kari volunteered at a refugee camp in Ghana Africa in October and had this little outfit made especially for me while she was there. Since the weather has finally started to warm up, I got to wear the outfit for the first time on Sunday.

I wasn't really in the mood for pictures before church, so mommy and daddy had to get my attention with this candle. I love candles. But mommy tricked me. She kept showing me the candle but wouldn't give it to me because it's in a glass container. What did she think would happen if I got a hold of it? I'm a perfectly responsible and considerate 15 month old.

HA! HA! Victory!

The computer room

This is why mommy closes the door to the computer room. I'm not usually allowed in there--unless Daddy is supposed to be watching me.

The red light on that gray thing is soooo cool! I just wish Mommy wouldn't take it away from me every time I finally get my hands on it.
