Oh my gosh, the sun has been out for three whole days! And today it was sunny AND warm so we went to the zoo. It has been so long since we've been to the zoo.
I love eating picnic lunches at the zoo.
There were tons of kids there on field trips, but I managed to climb a tree that wasn't covered in kids.
We saw the baby lion cubs that were so cute, the monkeys, elephants, meerkats. You can't see the orangutan in this picture because he was on the other side of his house. But we could see him.
I made sure we got to all the things we wanted to see with my trusty zoo map.
I loved seeing the penguins because we learned about them in kindergarten last week. Syd liked them too.
Mom wasn't sure if this was a real anchor, but I think it is.
We went to the zoo in the morning and I ended up being late to school, but it was totally worth it. I can't wait to go back. I wish the sun would stay forever!

Boy or Girl?
This face says it all:
Crushed.
I want a brother sooooo bad and instead I just found out I'm getting another sister. I already have a sister.
But here are some cute pics of my new sis. The first is a shot of her perfect little foot.
And this is her profile with her little feet tucked up by her hands above her face.
Mom said they got to see her yawn twice during the appointment. I didn't know they were going to take pictures of the baby. I just thought the doctor would call and tell us what Mom is having. Seeing the pictures made me feel a little better about having another sister....so did the ice cream cone I got later.

March in a Nutshell
March is gone and we're into April, so that means it's time to update the blog! Here's a recap of March--WARNING! WARNING! Lots of pictures ahead!
Sydney learned to drive.
She also learned to take pictures with Mom's phone.
We got a fun new kid-sized picnic table.
Sydney trying on my backpack. Looks a little big. What do you think?
Sydney made sure her babies got some good snacks.
Mom checked off one thing on her baby to-do list: got a new minivan and we all love it! Unfortunately, it doesn't fit in the garage!
I took swim lessons and Sydney practiced her photography skills.
We had a fun Easter egg hunt at the church.
Grandma and Grandpa de Jong came to visit and brought nice weather with them. We spent time outside at a fun park.
And I even got a little daring:
We also went to KidsQuest Children's Museum.
Syd got into Mom's make-up--again!
Grandpa helped out with babysitting.
Sydney got to dye Easter eggs for the first time.
We got egged!
Sydney had a nasty run-in with a bookshelf at the library and ended up with a lovely shiner.
We visited Cooper for Easter. This holiday is really special for our family. Since Jesus was resurrected, we know we'll be resurrected too and will get to see Cooper again some day. It was a gorgeous day, but the sun was a little too bright for pictures.
Sydney made a new friend while we were there.
We had another Easter egg hunt at my Dad's friend's house. There were a ton of kids there and a ton of eggs to find.
I had more than $8 inside my eggs! I am so rich.
On Easter morning, I was up bright and early, but we had to wake Syd up.
She didn't mind as much, though, once she saw her Easter basket.
We got to hunt for tons of eggs that the Easter bunny left in the house.
All dressed up in our Easter best.
And that about wraps it up for March. Today we find out if we're going to have a brother or sister. I want a brother SO BAD! I sure hope I get one. We'll let you know in a month when I get around to updating the blog again. : )

TO DO list with a deadline
1. Buy a new computer desk and move it into their room:
2. Buy a new bed for me that has storage space underneath. Move my Lego Star Wars base and all of my Legos out of the Lego/computer room and under my new bed:
3. Get rid of the old computer desk, buy a big girl bed for Sydney, and move it (and Syd) into the old computer room, which also needs to be painted and made to look like a little girl's room:
