Let it snow!

We have had some crazy weather this past week! It reminds me of the week after I was born two years ago when there was a crazy snowstorm and even though everyone else was staying home and off the streets, my parents insisted on taking me into the doctor for my newborn checkup because they were new parents and wanted to know how I was doing. Actually, I don't really remember that, but I overheard Mommy mention it.

Daddy came home early from work on Thursday because it was snowing so much and took me out to play in it. That sounded like fun, if you're someone who likes getting bundled up to go outside. I'm not one of those people. I hate wearing coats and shoes and hats--and you can forget about putting gloves on my hands. After a huge fit which included crying and shrieking and rolling around on the ground, Mommy and Daddy finally managed to get my snow clothes on and I headed outside with Daddy. It really wasn't that bad once we got out there. And even though I look less than thrilled in the pictures, I really did like the snow.

Daddy was trying to get gloves on my hands so they wouldn't freeze.

Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland.

Look closely and you'll notice that my mittens are on the wrong hands. That's because I refused to stick my thumb in the right spot, so Mommy just quickly shoved them on my hands before my fingers turned to ice.

The snow melted a bit on Friday and Saturday, but on Saturday afternoon it started coming down again and it got really windy so there was snow blowing everywhere. This is what our front porch looked like a few hours ago.

It's even deeper now. They even cancelled church for tomorrow!!! Bummer, no Nursery. Oh wait...I don't like Nursery anyway.

Overkill???

As you all know, my favorite movie is CARS and my favorite things to play with are cars! So this is what Mommy and Daddy got me as a late birthday/ early Christmas present:

I'm not sleeping in it yet, but this is my favorite thing to do on it:

Even though I love my crib, I think Mommy and Daddy are going to try moving me into this big boy bed pretty soon. But it's really cool, so I'm sure it will be an easy change.

Now check out the rest of my room. I love cars, but do you think it's overkill?

It's hard to see, but on the dresser on the left hand side is a Lightning McQueen clock! Notice the window valance with cars.

Like my poster and all of the CARS stickers on the wall? And did you notice the border near the ceiling? Yep, you guessed...that's Lightning McQueen and Mater.

More CARS stickers on my closet doors.

I don't think there's room for any more car stuff in this room! Now let's just hope I don't get sick of cars any time soon!

TWO!!!

Mommy and Daddy have been asking for a couple of weeks how old I'll be on my birthday. I wasn't quite sure what a birthday is, but I was supposed to say "two" whenever they asked, so I did. Well, I finally had my birthday on Saturday and apparently birthdays are really cool. The day was all about me! I got lots of new toys and I got to eat cake for dinner!

The first present I opened was three new cars! And not just any cars: two different Lightning McQueen cars and a Dinoco car! (See posting My New Obsession Part 2 )

The Dolans came over for dinner and to help celebrate. Here's my friend Makayla watching me open my presents.

Of course, Daddy shouldn't have let me open the cars first, because that was all I wanted to play with.

Check out the cool wrapping paper on the presents from Grandma and Grandpa de Jong: It's CARS!!!! That's my friend Karissa helping me open them.

And here are the cars again!

I also got a giant dump truck from Grandma and Grandpa Johnson, a magnetic doodle pad, a tool cart with lots of tools just like Daddy, and some t-shirts (including a Lightning McQueen shirt!!!) and a remote control car from Grandma and Grandpa de Jong.

Then came the cake! Guess what it was....

CARS!!!!

Besides the Lightning McQueen car on top, the best part was the frosting!!!

Want some???

Later on I discovered that the cake had been left out on the counter AND a chair had been left by it. Easy access.

Like I said, the frosting was the best part.

So now I'm two. I've heard something about two being terrible...but I'm not sure what that's all about. So far I think being two is great!

Cooper's Memorial

Mommy and Daddy ordered Cooper's memorial and it was placed on his grave Tuesday. We got to see it for the first time today.

I thought the memorial was really nice, but there were other things nearby that I found more interesting.

These balloons were so cool. No matter how many times I punched them, they kept popping back up into the air. Daddy had to fix some flowers that got a little trampled while I was boxing the balloons.

These other balloons actually got the better of me and tangled my feet in their strings.

Halloween!!!

I know, this post is about a week overdue, but things have been a little hectic around here lately.

First, let me say that I LOVE Halloween!!! Did you know that at night, you get to go out in the dark with your Dad and a flashlight and knock on your neighbors' doors and ask for candy and they actually give it to you???!!!!

I was an elephant for Halloween. And so was my friend Amelia. She and my friend Hayden came over to go trick-or-treating that night (apparently that's what you're supposed to say--"trick-or-treat" when you want candy from your neighbors. It worked so well that night that I'll have to give it a try again soon). Mommy tried to get pictures of us altogether, but she wanted us to just stand there. Who was she kidding? We were all so excited, there was no way we were going to stand still. So instead, we ran circles around and around the kitchen and family room and living room.

This is what Mommy got:

Can you see me in the bottom left hand corner?

This is a better shot of me on the run:

And here's Amelia and Hayden:

Getting ready to head out:

Check out my stash! I was allowed to eat anything I wanted in one sitting! Daddy thought the candy was his too since he's the one who took me out. I decided to be nice and share.

Unfortunately, my bag ripped TWICE while I was trick-or-treating.

And Mommy forgot to change my diaper before we left, so this is what my pants looked like when we got back:

But I didn't even notice. I was too busy eating my candy. I didn't finish my candy that night--there was still a lot left. But somehow it has mysteriously disappeared....

Did you know....

...that a pumkin has stuff inside of it???!!!!

And when a spoon won't get all of it out, you can reach in with your bare hands!

And the stuff inside is SLIMY!!!!

And fun to throw around.

Which is what I did with it. I was just copying Daddy. He threw a little slime at Mommy, so then I threw a little slime at Mommy. And a little more slime, and a few seeds, and then I just started chucking it all over the kitchen. Daddy thought it was funny, so I kept throwing. I had to pick up some of the seeds afterward. Guess who ended up mopping the floor? (If you guessed Daddy, since he was the one who started it, you're wrong.)

After we pulled all of the gunk out of it, Daddy used a knife to cut holes in the pumpkin that made it look like a face. My favorite part was the little lid. It's like a puzzle piece.

In this picture I was doing my "big smile" (see posting Fun pictures ), but Mommy took the picture too late and I was already done:

We didn't clean out and cut up Cooper's pumpkin, but Mommy drew a face on it and we left it for him at the cemetery.

Since Cooper won't be able to go trick-or-treating, Daddy left him some candy with his pumpkin.
