Help! Picasa is full!

Does anyone know much about blogger and Picasa web albums?  When I was trying to upload Ty's bday pics, it said that it couldn't load the pics because my free Picasa web album (which, I guess, is where all blog pics are stored) is full.  The only way to upload the pics was to resize them and make them smaller.  What a pain!  I don't want to have to do that every time, but my only other options are to start a new blog or pay for more storage.  I assume that if I try to delete pics from the Picasa album, it will delete them from the blog.  Does anyone know if there is a way to store posts somewhere else, or pics attached to the blog somewhere else without losing them on the blog?

I AM 6!!!!!

In case you didn't know (which would be surprising because I told everyone I met), my birthday was on Thanksgiving this year.  We got to got to California and Arizona for Thanksgiving and my birthday which was sooooo fun!  Pictures of vacation will be in another post.  This is all about me!

I wanted a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles birthday, so Mom and Dad decorated Aunt Kari's house with cool green Ninja balloons.  The black balloons on the ground are the defeated bad guys.

  
This is me on the morning I turned 6!  I was so excited that my birthday was finally here!

Everyone was so nice and gave me some great presents--including Ninja Turtles stuff!

Of course, a birthday wouldn't be complete without a new Lego set. I also got a new game, a Leapfrog Tag, and Avengers stuff.  I still love Ironman and the Avengers!

(And when we got home from AZ, Dad and I headed straight upstairs and put my new Legos together.)

Then we had cake!  Aunt Kari made a super cool Ninja turtle cake.  It's Raphael--my favorite!

I made a wish and blew out that candles....

...or tried to, but the darn things kept lighting back up.  Apparently, Mom and Dad put trick candles in my cake.

It was such a great birthday!  I love being 6!

P.S.  I have a loose tooth!  It's barely wiggling and Mom says I probably won't lose it before Christmas, but I'll let you know as soon as it does!

Last soccer game

My last soccer game was last Saturday.  It wasn't until noon, so after breakfast I decided to dress up in my Ironman costume and play in it before the game.  Mom even did my hair again and put my goatee on.  Then Mom checked her email (at 10:15am) and the coach had sent a message that the game had been moved to 10am!!!!  So Mom told me to hurry and get my soccer clothes on so we could race to the field and play at least part of the game.

I didn't have time to wash my face, so Tony Stark showed up for the last ten minutes of the game.

Ha! Ha!  It was actually me!

I think I'm finally getting the hang of soccer, now that it's over.  See how I'm chasing down the ball (I'm #5).

And do you like the way my teammate and I are fighting over the ball?

Look, I'm actually taking control of the ball!

So, I didn't score any goals this season, but I still had fun (after the first two weeks that were miserable).  I think I might play again next year!

Halloween!

Did you know Tony Stark has a twin brother???

I'm changing my name to Tony.


I LOVE Halloween! I love dressing up and getting tons of candy.  We went trick-or-treating with some friends.  It was a little tough to get everyone looking at the camera at once and it looks like none of us like each other, but we really do.

Sydney loved my Ironman costume and says Ironman all the time now.  She kept trying to be Ironman in her elephant costume and kept pretending she could shoot energy from her hands like me.

We were really lucky that it wasn't raining (cuz it had been for a few days before) and it was pretty warm.

Fighting bad guys--I mean, trick-or-treating--sure can wear you out.  Check out my hair after all that time outside.

That's okay, Tony's hair takes a beating too when he's fighting bad guys.

Sydney came back early from trick-or-treating and hung out with Mom while she passed out candy.  After our friends went home, Syd and I checked out our loot.  YUM!

Can't wait till next Halloween!

Pre-Halloween Activities

To get ready for Halloween, we did a few fun activities.

Of course you have to decorate sugar cookies for Halloween.  I'm pretty good at it, but Sydney just likes to wipe the frosting off her cookie and then lick it off her finger.

We both ended up with black tongues:

You always have to carve a pumpkin for Halloween.  I love carving pumpkins, but I hate the ooey gooey stuff.  Usually Dad handles that, but he was at work and Mom wanted to kill some time, so she did it.  Sydney seemed really interested in the pumpkin when Mom first took off the top and showed her all the guts.

But she refused to touch the insides too.  So I kept her entertained while Mom did all the dirty work.

I did help draw the pumpkin face, cut it out, and paint it.  Can you tell what it is?  I'm a little obsessed.

On another day, we made ghosts out of marshmallows.  Sydney made one too.  But after she glued on the marshmallows, she ate them when Mom wasn't looking.  Then she ate mine too--while it was hanging on my wall!

Of course we made a pumpkin for Cooper and took it to him.  I drew the face and Sydney drew some stuff on it too. 

 

The day before Halloween we went to our ward trunk-or-treat.  They had a chili cook-off before and Mom won a prize for most unique chili!  It was her creamy white chicken chili.  Sydney didn't eat Mom's chili, but she liked whatever other kind Mom gave her.

And believe it or not, that was the only picture Mom and Dad took at the trunk-or-treat.  But there was a professional photographer there taking pics of people in their costumes.  This is the one of me and Syd.

 

 I won a prize too for most elaborate costume because I had a light on my chest for Ironman that actually worked.  More pics of that in the next post.

And finally, on the day of Halloween, we weren't allowed to wear costumes to school AND we didn't have a Halloween Party, we had a "Harvest Celebration," because some people don't believe in Halloween.  Mom and I made some pumpkin pretzels as a treat to share with the class.

They took a loooooong time to make.  Here they are all finished.  Do they look a little like pumpkins?  Even if they don't, they sure tasted good.  Although Mom thinks they took way too much time for a class of five-year-olds who would gobble them up in two seconds.

 

Mt. Rainier Train Ride

Mom bought tickets on Groupon for us to take a train ride down near Mt. Rainier. How fun does that sound?  The only problem was that on the day we went, it was freezing!  41 degrees outside and probably not much warmer inside the non-heated train car.  You could totally see your breath inside.

Pretty, huh?  And if it hadn't been rainy and foggy, we were supposed to see views of Mt. Rainier too.

It's hard holding that heavy camera and trying to push a little button and make sure people are in the picture all as the same time!

After being on the train for about 45 minutes, it stopped and let us out for a little walk.  Now I'm sure that walk would have been quite enjoyable on a sunny day, but it was cold and wet when we got off.  But that didn't stop us from walking along the tracks and getting a peek at the front of the train.

On our way back, Mom and I went to the front train car and got to see the engine.

I had fun, even though it was cold.  And Sydeny seemed to like it too.  I think Mom was freezing the whole time and probably would have liked to go in the summer instead of the end of October.  Oh, well, it was a good deal on Groupon so she can't complain too much.  And it's always nice to go on a little adventure that's different than what we do every day.
