Mom bought tickets on Groupon for us to take a train ride down near Mt. Rainier. How fun does that sound? The only problem was that on the day we went, it was freezing! 41 degrees outside and probably not much warmer inside the non-heated train car. You could totally see your breath inside.
Here's what the train car looked like:
This is what it looked like from the back of the train:
Pretty, huh? And if it hadn't been rainy and foggy, we were supposed to see views of Mt. Rainier too.
I took this picture of Mom and Dad:
After I took this one:
It's hard holding that heavy camera and trying to push a little button and make sure people are in the picture all as the same time!
After being on the train for about 45 minutes, it stopped and let us out for a little walk. Now I'm sure that walk would have been quite enjoyable on a sunny day, but it was cold and wet when we got off. But that didn't stop us from walking along the tracks and getting a peek at the front of the train.
On our way back, Mom and I went to the front train car and got to see the engine.
This was the view from the side of the car:
I had fun, even though it was cold. And Sydeny seemed to like it too. I think Mom was freezing the whole time and probably would have liked to go in the summer instead of the end of October. Oh, well, it was a good deal on Groupon so she can't complain too much. And it's always nice to go on a little adventure that's different than what we do every day.

We thought about doing that with the kids since Groupon had a deal for it, but after reading the reviews we decided not to. The reviews said you could only see the mountain for about 30 seconds. But I think going in the fall was a great idea. Very pretty :)
