Not much

We haven't been doing much here, so these are just a few random pictures from the past couple of weeks so you can see just how little excitement there is at out house.

Can I just say that Baby Einstein shows are THE BEST EVER!  I love them!  Although, it sure can be exhausting watching them.

Ty loves bath crayons.  Mom won't let me use them anymore because I eat them.  Why is it okay for Ty to draw on our faces with crayons but not okay for me to take a little nibble off one?  (By the way, that is not a crayon in my mouth, but a plastic fish.)

I'm starting a new fashion trend.  Don't Ty's shorts look great with my rain boots?

Here's hoping I'll have more fun things to report next time!  Ty and Dad are going on a Father/Son campout this weekend and it's supposed to rain, so we should have lots of good pictures from that.

This and that

Just wanted to catch everyone up on a few random things around our house.

Mom made mini cake donuts and they were so delicious.  They're best if you eat the glaze first.

Ty and I got McDonald's for dinner one night and we got to eat outside because the weather has been so great!  Of course, I would eat outside even if it was raining because I love the great outdoors.  I wanted Ty's chocolate milk.

But he decided to share his french fries with me instead.

I love french fries, but when he wasn't looking, I managed to get my hands on the milk.

And I love chicken nuggets as much as the next kid, but I recently discovered corn on the cob, and when I saw Mama and Dada eating that, I knew I had to have some too.  Mama was kind enough to give me her cob.

Mother's Day was on Sunday.  I didn't really get it, but Ty sure seemed to be excited about the day.

He made Mom breakfast in bed all by himself. I can't wait till I'm old enough to do that.

If Mom looks a little tired in this next picture, it's because Ty was a little too excited about serving her breakfast in bed.

I was already awake anyway, but I think Mom was hoping she would get to sleep for another hour.

Oh, well.  The breakfast was worth it.  I know cuz Mom shared it with me.

Hi!

Wow!  Learning to talk is tough.  Your mouth and tongue have to move in all these funky ways just to make certain sounds come out.  And swear I'm making my mouth move just like Mommy and Daddy but they still don't understand most of what I say.  But I did learn a couple of new words the other day.

Maybe Mommy and Daddy should think about learning my language instead of me learning theirs.  It would be way easier on me.

Sunshine and the beach

When there's a sunny weekend during spring or winter (when you rarely see the sun), our family usually heads to Seahurst Beach.  And that's what we did a couple of weekends ago when the sun was shining ALL day!

Sydney loved running around on the beach.

And she's such a copycat.  She saw me walking on the logs so she had to walk on them too.

Mom says I have been getting so brave lately.  I used to be scared of doing anything that might hurt me, and I'm still really nervous about getting on Dad's shoulders.  Heights are not fun.  Especially when Dad pretends he's going to tip over and drop me.  But check me out on these giant rocks.

No fear.  Of course, Mom was scared.  I think some of my scaredness has rubbed off on her, because now whenever I do anything even slightly daring, she's constantly telling me to be careful.  Check out this cool pose.

Of course, maybe I've gotten so daring because I'm trying to keep up with my little sister.  Talk about fearless!  Sydney thinks she's way older than she is.  Of course Mom had to help her up these stacked boards when she started climbing them on her own.

And since Sydney is constantly on the move, she doesn't really like holding hands.

See what I mean.  She's off to something else.

But who can blame her when it's something so fun.

Sydney is definitely not afraid of Dad's shoulders.  She doesn't even hang on.  Look, she knows where her ears are.

And where Dad's ears are.

I love sunny days.

I'm so glad I can share clothes with Ty.

Spring Break Visit

Grandma and Grandpa de Jong came for a visit last week and we had so much fun.  When we first picked them up at the airport, Sydney started crying the minute Grandpa got into the backseat with her.  She calmed down pretty quickly but for the rest of the trip home, she leaned far away from him and wouldn't take her eyes off him.  Once we got home, it didn't take long for her to warm up to him and for the rest of the trip he was her new best friend.

We played so much while Gma and Gpa were here.  Gma is really good at playing with cars and Imaginext and space men.  We also dyed Easter eggs, of course.  Well, I did, anyway.  Mom and Grandma offered a few suggestions and watched me dip my eggs.

We went to the Museum of Flight and I found out that my Grandma's dad was in the Navy and flew these planes off an aircraft carrier.  How cool is that?!

We got to go inside an airplane that the President used to fly on.

Sydney loves airplanes and points to the sky any time she hears one--even if she's inside.  So she was super excited to walk around so close to all these planes.  But she wouldn't stand still long enough for us to get a good picture of her with one.

We were lucky that the weather was nice for a lot of the time that Grandma and Grandpa were here.  That meant we got to go on walks (where I go to show off my new bike riding skills--more on that later) and play at the park.

Of course, Sydeny wanted to try to do everything that I did.  She thinks she's a big kid instead of a toddler.

Copycat.

Sydney loved the ducks at the park and kept leaving the playground to check them out.

She wouldn't even take her eyes off them for a picture.

The tricky part about having Gma and Gpa visit is that we can't drive places all together unless we borrow Dad's car.  Mom's car is way too small.  And even with Dad's car, it's a bit squishy in the back.

Mom would love a minivan but that won't happen until her car dies or we have another baby.
And I know my last post made it sound like Easter is all about the Easter Bunny, but I know it's really about Jesus being resurrected.  And since He was resurrected, I'll get to see my brother Cooper again.  So of course we visited Cooper while Grandma and Grandpa were here the day before Easter.

For some reason that Eater Lily started drooping as soon as we set it down.  But Mom propped it up with a stick before we left and it looked awesome.

We found a cute little frog while we were there.

Right near where Cooper is, there is a pretty area for cremated people to be buried.  It was such a pretty day that we decided to walk around there.  Brace yourself for a lot of pics:

Sydney was always on the go and Mom had to keep chasing after her.

It was such a clear day that you could see Mt. Rainier in the background.

Gma and Gpa and me and Syd guarded these rocks in front of the fountain.

Deja vu:

Here's dad with me at Seahurst Beach when I was the same age as Sydney.

Here's one of the things Mom loves about Grandma and Grandpa coming to visit--Mom gets to try new recipes and Gma cleans up afterward.

I don't care about the new recipes, I just like playing with my grandparents nonstop for four days.  I can't wait for them to come back.
