TO DO list with a deadline

Mom and Dad have been talking lately about all the stuff they need to do.  Check out what's on their To Do list:

1.  Buy a new computer desk and move it into their room:

2.  Buy a new bed for me that has storage space underneath.  Move my Lego Star Wars base and all of my Legos out of the Lego/computer room and under my new bed:

3.  Get rid of the old computer desk, buy a big girl bed for Sydney, and move it (and Syd) into the old computer room, which also needs to be painted and made to look like a little girl's room:

A double bed so visitors actually have a place to sleep!

4.  Get a minivan:

5.  Buy a new stroller and car seat:

Wow, they better get to work!

DEADLINE:  August 29, 2013 (plus another 5-10 days since we all know Mom is never on time)

Quick catch-up

So Mom and Dad only took 37 pictures with the camera during the entire month of January.  How sad is that!  Of course, Mom took a bunch with her phone and  didn't add those up.  Not a whole lot going on this past month and a half, so here's a little peek at our day-to-day lives.

I finally learned how to ride a two wheel bike with pedals.  It is sooooooo fun!!!  I want to ride all the time.

Mom started a new valentine tradition this year.  Each morning between Feb 1 and 14, she puts a new heart on my door and Syd's door that says a reason Mom and Dad love us.  I loved reading the new heart each morning.

Mom broke the garage door when she forgot to open it before backing her car out. We're getting new doors on Friday.

We were at Starbucks and a really nice girl who was drawing there let me color a picture on her big paper using her charcoal and colored pencils.

Someone spilled water in the kitchen, so I made a "Caution" sign so people wouldn't slip.

So there's the update.  Like I said--not a whole lot of stuff going on. 

Sledding--a month ago

Seriously, I am a slacker!  It's been nearly a month since I updated this blog.  Of course, we haven't done anything too exciting in that month, except for sledding, which was totally awesome.  But the pictures were all on Dad's phone which he just barely downloaded tonight.  It's tough keeping track of where all the pictures are when they can be on Mom's phone or Dad's phone, or the camera!

Anyway, a month ago we went to visit our friends and go sledding.  I LOVED it! (which totally surprised Mom and Dad since I'm usually afraid to try new things).  And so did Sydney.  Here are a few pics and videos of that fun day.

I wish it would snow here so that we can play in the snow and sled again.  Mom wants it to snow for a day so that we can get more use out of our new snow clothes before we outgrow them.  A couple of years ago it snowed a ton at the end of February.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it happens again!

I'm TWO!!!

Having a December birthday hasn't been too bad so far--at least not for me.  It might be a little stressful for Mom and Dad.  Mom decorated the family room for my birthday, so I didn't mind that the Christmas decorations were still up.

And who cares if I was opening birthday presents right next to the Christmas tree.  After all the practice on Christmas, opening presents was a breeze.

I got more doll stuff, a Curious George book, a new shirt, and My Little Ponies.  And then I got to eat CAKE!!!

I loved it when my family sang Happy Birthday to me.  Sorry for the blurry pics.  The dumb camera kept focusing on the candles instead of what we really important--ME!

I was a pro at blowing out the candles so I'm sure I'll get my wish.

And I got to help Mom cut my cake.  It was so yummy!  Pink on the inside (my favorite color) and lots of sprinkles on top.

Being two is great!  I'm learning my colors and I can count to three just like Mom!  And I can do lots of stuff by myself.  Mom keeps telling me I'm a big girl, but I'm not buying it.  Daddy still calls me Babycakes (and I call him Daddycakes), so as far as I'm concerned I'm a baby.  But it's still fun to be two!

Christmas Day

Since January is half over, I thought it was about time I posted pictures of Christmas.  And I have to warn you that there are a ton.  So this is mostly for Grandmas and Grandpas and aunts and uncles to look at.  But here's how our Christmas went down.

I stayed in bed until 6am just like Mom and Dad told me to.  But you better believe I was calling for them at 6:01.  Unfortunately, Sydney is not an early riser and will usually sleep until at least 7:30, so Mom and Dad woke her up so I wouldn't have too wait forever to check out my loot.

Waiting at the top of the stairs (see how tired Syd looks.  But don't worry, she perked right up once she saw the goodies Santa left for her.  And I know I don't look totally awake, but the flash on the camera was really bright so early in the morning).

What we found downstairs:

Santa's plate of cookies--he always makes sure to leave one for me.  He also left a bell from his sleigh like I asked for.

Sydney was soooooooo excited about her new kitchen from Santa.

And I know I don't look thrilled in this pic, but I really was--I got the Ironman I asked for.

When we took pics of all our stocking stuff, I made sure Syd and I had a pic with Cooper's stocking too.

Dad was kind of lazy and tried handing out presents while sitting on the couch.  Syd and I gave him a hand.

I think Mom and Dad regretted giving me nunchucks after we played with them and realized that they weren't a soft as they thought.

Syd loves babies and couldn't wait to get this baby out of her box and stick the binky in her mouth.

Dad got a sleeping bag and spent the rest of the time opening presents in it.

I made mom a candy cane ornament at school which she loved.

Grandma and Grandpa de Jong were here and opened a few presents too, but not nearly as many as me and Syd.

Dad got a new exercise bike (although I think Mom bought it partly for herself).

I am so sad that Christmas is over.  Sometimes I wish we could have Christmas every day, but then Mom always tells me it wouldn't be special that way.  I can't wait for Christmas next year!
