Countertops

Mommy had to do dishes in my bathtub. After my bath I found spaghetti between my toes and a piece of lettuce behind my ear. Daddy says I smell tasty.

We painted the kitchen walls to prepare for the new counters and tile. Daddy didn't do very good. He missed the whole bottom of the wall.

Mommy was really excited for the granite installers. They were scheduled to arrive between 2:00 and 4:00.

At 5:00 we gave up waiting and called off our cabinet installer for the next day. But wait... at 6:30 they showed up ready to install. They had been working solid since 7:00 in the morning on other jobs. They earned their money that day.

Finally our first piece of counter top.

Mommy got a new undermount sink too. She's very excited.

Here's the granite in the late evening light. Scroll down to see what it looks like during the day.

Wow! They finally finished at 9:32.

Now for our tile.

So here are our new cabinets!

Okay, so that is one of the old ones.

But this is the mess that we made in the dining room. It was like this for a week and then only a little better for the next three weeks.

Here's the bigger mess they made in the kitchen.

Now for the real new cabinets! How do they look?

Mommy had to cook without counters for two weeks. It made it real easy to find stuff.

Here's daddy pretending he did all the work. Actually he is installing the hardware.

And one shot of what the new doors look like. We'll post more pictures tomorrow with the counter tops.

Give me a 'T'!

I love all the letters of the alphabet, but my favorite ones are I and T. You can make I and T and out of anything!

Rolls of wrapping paper:

Cars:

Cheetos:

Can you spot the I and T on the messy table? Mommy wants me to let you know that it looks this way because our kitchen was being redone at the time.

Cheese and crackers:

My feet:

I'm making a T, in case you can't tell.

The possibilities are endless!!!!!

No more of....

this!!!!

Doing dishes in the bathtub didn't bother me so much. Actually, since Mommy used my bathtub to wash the dishes, I got to take baths in Mommy and Daddy's big bathtub which has more room for my toys. But I think Mommay got a little tired of doing dishes here.

So finally, after three weeks of no sink and dishwasher, life is back to normal and the kitchen is done....almost. Another workerman is coming next week to put in the backsplash, and Daddy is replacing the pantry door. Then....the Big Reveal!

Easter Pictures

I'm a little late with these pictures, but at least it's still April!

The day before Easter we went to visit Cooper. I left a little egg on his headstone. I also noticed that he has some cars on his headstone just like some cars I have at home! (I have a sneaking suspicion that these might be the exact same cars!)

Daddy tried to get me wet with the water spraying out of the water faucet. I thought I was fast, but apparently not fast enough.

But then Daddy ran through the water too. What a silly Daddy!

This was the first time I got to dye eggs for Easter. The water was different colors and we dropped eggs into the cups. After a few minutes we took them back out and they were the same color as the water had been!!!! How cool is that!

We only decorate five eggs, because Mommy is the only one who actually likes hard-boiled eggs.

The night before Easter, Daddy showed me some pictures of my Easter basket from last year and I got so excited that I could hardly sleep. In fact, I didn't actually go to bed and stay in bed until after midnight.

I'm not supposed to leave my room in the morning until my digital clock says 7. Well, I kept looking at it to see if it was time to get up yet, and when I saw a 7 I would run out of my room to get Mommy and Daddy. Apparently, 11:37 doesn't count the same as 7:00, because Mommy and Daddy kept putting me back to bed.

When morning finally did come, I found that the Easter Bunny had filled my basket just like last year!

This big white chocolate bunny was my favorite candy of all.

I also got a big Fillmore from the movie Cars. It came in a giant purple egg!

The Easter Bunny also hid some plastic eggs with candy around the living room that I got to look for.

And, of course, Daddy helped himself to some of my candy while I played with my new toy boat.

What a fun day!

A few more pics

Here are a few more pictures from Grandma and Grandpa's visit. They were trapped on Grandpa's camera and were emailed after the last post.

Playing trains

and cars with Grandma.

Excited for the train to come:

I was slightly tired on the train ride to Seattle.

Grandpa's tummy works great as a pillow...

and a perch while eating my fruit roll up.

His head is also great for getting a better view into the backyard.

And once in a while it's fun to just sit next to him instead of on him.
