Bookworms

Looks like Mommy is starting early with Sydney, just like she did with me.

I love to read, just like Mommy does.

And it looks like Sydney does too!

Looks like the guy who took this picture is going to be the only non-reader in the family. Too bad for him!

Daddy's Little Girl

I love my Daddy. Every time he holds me I can't stop staring at him.

And he can't stop taking pictures of me...

over and over...

in the same outfit.

I may be smiling and cooing and holding my head up now, but someone needs to tell my dad that I can't sit by myself just yet. Don't worry, it's on my list of things to do.

Big and Little

Valentine's Day

I got to hand out my very first Valentines to the kids in my preschool class. It was so much fun.

Mommy and I picked out some Laffy Taffy valentines at the store (Laffy Taffy's are my favorite--Daddy's too).

And I signed my own name on all of them.

All the kids in my class gave me valentines too! And they all had candy on them! Check out my stash.

I love Valentine's Day!

Blessing Day

Sydney was blessed in church on Feb. 6.

Take a look at the two pictures below. What HUGE difference do you notice between them?

That's right....I'm not in the first one! Mommy and Daddy were taking a picture of our family that was there for the blessing, and they forgot about ME! I had already run off to Primary by myself like I do every Sunday (ha, ha) and they took the first picture without even realizing I wasn't in it! So Mommy had to come get me out of Primary for the second picture.

After church Mommy took a bunch of pictures of Sydney in her blessing dress. Doesn't she look thrilled?

Of course, I made sure I didn't get left out this time and got in on the last few shots. Can't you tell that Sydney is glad I'm there?

So, Grandma and Grandpa de Jong flew up from California for the blessing. Grandpa likes Legos as much as Daddy and I do, so we all had fun putting together my new Star Wars Legos.

Wait a second? Who is missing from this picture, again?! I guess Gpa and Daddy played with the Legos just fine on their own.

My turn

It's my turn to talk about real life. Sydney has been hogging this blog the past couple of posts.

Mommy bought a mixer off Craigslist and I've been helping her try it out. We've been trying different brownie recipes because Mommy always messes up brownies from a box. This recipe was really good.

And do you like the cool apron I got for Christmas?! Now I'm just like Mommy when we're cookin' in the kitchen.

Daddy has been trying to get Baby Sister addicted to Slurpees like he is. She's not convinced they're all that great.

I LOVE my baby sister. I think she is so cute. And I don't even mind that she cries a ton. I just go over and play with her and talk to her and make silly noises. She really likes me too.

We took Sydney to see Cooper for the first time. She wasn't all that excited to be there.

Of course, she's been with Cooper more recently than any of us have, so she probaby thought visiting the cemetery wasn't nearly as good as the real thing.

When Mommy told me we were going to visit Cooper, I thought we were going up into the sky to see him. But then when she said we were going to the cemetery, I reminded her that Cooper's not really at the cemetery. That's just a statue of him.

Cooper is doing important jobs with Heavenly Father. I hope he finishes his jobs soon so he can come back and play with me.

Life in the real world

It's been a little crazy getting used to life outside Mommy. So many new things. I actually get hungry, there are bright lights everywhere, and I have to wear clothes. This guy has been a big help though:

My big bro is always ready to sing to me, feed me, hold me, pet me. Although I think he thought I would come out of Mommy ready to play Legos with him. A couple of times during his prayers, I heard him ask Heavenly Father to help me learn to walk and talk soon.

I love to cuddle, and Daddy loves that.

So does Mommy. Good thing too, because I love to be held...all the time.

Here's Mommy trying to multi-task. It's a little tricky typing with one hand.

I love baths. The water is so warm and reminds me of being inside Mommy.

Random cuteness:

A rare photo op--me asleep. Of course, someone was holding me.

And here's what happens when you try to put me down:

Wide awake! I may be all smiles now, but if someone doesn't pick me up soon, I'll be in tears.
