A Few of My Favorite Things

I LOVE LOVE LOVE to pull myself up on things which is why I love this toy so much.  Once I pull myself up on it, I can push different buttons to make noises and to hear songs and watch lights flash.  Amazing!

I LOVE to walk.  Don't get me wrong, crawling is great, and I'm pretty fast now.  But walking is where it's at!  Right now I don't have the greatest balance so I can't walk on my own, but anytime I can get a hold of someone's fingers I grab on tight and walk forever--or until their back gets tired from bending over to my level.  Even my big brother helps me out sometimes.

Who needs a pacifier when you've got chapstick?  That stuff is so fun to hold in my mouth no matter what I'm doing.

I LOVE taking a bath.  Even if I see Ty in the tub right after I've gotten out, I want to climb right back in.  It is so fun to splash in the water, play with the toys, and suck on the washcloth.

Well, look who got to get in the tub!

MMMM....Chili

I love to eat.  Not that disgusting baby food.  I gave that up a while ago.  It was time to move up to food with flavor.  My new favorite....Chili!!!  (just like my brother)

I'm also a big believer in feeding myself.

Another day, another set of beans.  I think I may have enjoyed these even more than the first time.

And if you look closely at this last picture, you can see my new teeth!

These little things are actually a little annoying, because if I'm not careful putting food in my mouth, I chomp down on my fingers instead of my food.  That sure hurts!

(Second) First day of Preschool

This is my second year of preschool, but this year I'm in the 4's class because I'm four.  I go to preschool on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday but I wish it was everyday!  It is so much fun!

Mom made our special "first day of school breakfast."  She decorated the table really cool.

But the coolest part were the pancakes!  Star Wars pancakes!!!  I got to choose to eat an X-Wing fighter, the Millenium Falcon, or Darth Vaders Tie Fighter.

I chose the X-Wing.  YUM!!

On the first day of school, we got to sit on whatever shape we wanted to on the carpet.  I chose a shape in the back because I like to sit in the back.

Then we sang, "If You're Happy and You Know It" and then the parents all left.  I love summer, but I'm also glad to be back in preschool.

That night we got to go to the beach and have a bonfire and roast marshmallows with Amelia's family.

Baby sister had fun hanging out in her stroller.  She loves to put her feet up on that bar and just relax.

I got some water in a bucket from the ocean and went to pour it in a dump truck so we could make wet sand and build a sandcastle.

But, oh my-gosh, that water splashed right out of the dump truck and landed all over Amelia's pants.  She was kind of upset.

But she's tough and got over it pretty quickly, so we moved on and played other things like Frisbee.

And we built an island with sticks that looked like the island was saw across the ocean.

I love the beach.

Tomato...Tomahto

We have a ton of tomatoes in our garden--some are almost as big as baby sister's head!  Does anyone have any tomato recipes they can share with us?  We can only eat so many salads with tomatoes.

Twin Falls Hike

Over Labor Day weekend we hiked Twin Falls with my friend Amelia and her family.

It was so much fun.  I wanted to run the whole way to the waterfall--and I probably would have run the whole way if Mom hadn't kept yelling at me every time I turned a corner and she couldn't see me anymore.  Sydney rode in the Snugli for three hours and loved it.

Her feet or arms were blurry in a lot of pictures because they were always moving.  She was so excited to be outside.  Check out how big her smile is.

Dad and I climbed this really cool rock.
Which totally freaked Mom out because it was so high.  Did she think I was going to jump off it or something?

Dad found this cool fuzzy bug that he put on my arm.

The waterfall!  Honestly, I didn't really care about it.  I thought running along the trail and eating lunch were way better.

But Mom and Dad managed to snap this picture of me anyway.  I am so good at tricking them for pictures.  When I don't want to take a picture they start saying things like, "Oh that's okay.  Ty doesn't know how to smile anyway.  I bet he would never smile for a picture."  And then I smile really big just to prove them wrong.  Ha!

There really wasn't anywhere to eat lunch at the waterfall so we just plopped ourselves down in the middle of the path and moved whenever people came by.

Even Sydney took a lunch break.

I got a little tired on the way back from all that running I did in the beginning.  So Mom helped me out for a bit.

Dad and I stopped to play in the water (and take a potty break behind some bushes).  The rocks were really slippery and I accidentally fell on my bum in the water.

Sydney got a ride on Dad's shoulders.  If you look closely, you'll see she's only wearing a diaper.  That's because she leaked out of her diaper, through her clothes, AND out of the Snugli.  After changing her diaper there was no way Dad would carry her in the wet Snugli, so she went onto his shoulders.

And at the very end of the hike, I found this!  Can you see what I'm standing behind?

It's a branch in the shape of the letter M!!!!  How cool is that?  A great end to a great hike!

Kubota Garden

On Sunday we had a fun family picnic at Kubota Garden which was super fun.

After we ate, we explored the garden which was so awesome!  There were bridges to cross and lots of paths to follow and secret hiding places under trees.  Dad even dared me to dive into a little pond.

Mom and Dad took some fun pictures of me and Syd.

And I took some pretty good pictures of Mom and Dad.

I don't know why they were laughing so hard while I was taking the picture.
As usual, Dad was naming every plant and tree we passed.
We took a few more fun pics (although I never got the camera back):

And then a nice lady passing by offered to take a pic of all of us right in front of a cool waterfall.
It was such a fun family picnic.  I'm glad we took lots of pictures so that we can remember to go there again.
