Fun Pictures

I saw Daddy taking a rest in bed after church and thought I would join him. Things started out pretty mellow.

Then Daddy started tickling me.
I pretend I don't like to be tickled, but I actually love it.

zoo

Mommy bought a zoo membership for the year and we got to go for the first time on Monday. It was so sunny and warm. My friends Katy and Amelia went too.

My first trip to a zoo was in Phoenix a few months ago (The Zoo). This time, I actually understood that we were there to look at the animals. I think the fact that I've watched "Madagascar" about a zillion times since Easter really helped prep me for this visit. I was really excited to see zebras and hippos and lions and giraffes.

Mommy had a hard time taking pictures because by the time she got the camera ready, we were moving on to something else. Plus, it's hard to see the animals behind the glass. I'm pointing at a monkey standing in front of Amelia, but you can't see him because of all the shadows.

Of course, not all of the animals were anxious to come and look at us through the glass. But that was okay, because there were still other cool things to look at--like this waterfall.

One of my favorite animals that day had HUGE claws and was REALLY loud:
We're planning on going to the zoo lots this summer and fall. So even though we didn't get to see all of the animals this time, or get many good pictures, there is always next time.

Easter

On Saturday night, my friends Katy and Seth came over and we had a little Easter egg hunt inside the house. There were plastic eggs in all different color hidden all over the place. And they were filled with candy!!! We just had to find them and put them in the baskets we were carrying around.

Of course, after about five minutes, it was time for a candy break. You can't have that many eggs in your basket full of candy without cracking one open.

I started my candy binge with Laffy Taffy. It's hard to eat more candy when you're busy picking taffy out of your teeth.

Look, I'm actually smiling on command! (with a mouth full of cookie)

Sunday morning I came downstairs and found my Easter basket surrounded by gobs and gobs of candy.

I got a new movie called "Madagascar" (although I just call it Hippo) which I have watched at least a dozen times since getting it.

There was also a new toothbrush in there. It was a Wall-E toothbrush and it's electric!!! Just like Mommy and Daddy's toothbrushes!

There was so much candy, I thought I'd share a little with Daddy--yum, a hollow chocolate duck! That was one of my favorite things to eat after getting my tonsils out.

The only thing that drove me nuts about Easter was all of this plastic green grass that kept sticking to my feet. And every time I pulled a piece out from between my toes, I would take a step and discover a new one between two different toes.

Mommy isn't a big candy eater, but she decided to have a taste of my bunny mouth sucker.

Sunday morning Daddy forced me into a new Easter outfit. And like always, in order to get pictures, they had to bribe me with candy.

Mommy also taught me to say "Jesus was resurrected" (although when I say it, it sounds more like rerererected). And even though candy is a nice bonus, that's what Easter is supposed to be all about. And my family is especially thankful for Jesus Christ being rerererected, because that means we will get to see my brother Cooper again.

I hate haircuts!

That's why Mommy and Daddy wait until my hair is a ragged mop like this:

before they get my haircut.

Sometimes Daddy will use his noisy clippers to cut my hair (which I fight), but this time Mommy took me to the lady who cuts Daddy's hair. And I hated it. Not even marshmallows and Lucky Charms would get me to sit still. Mommy held me on her lap and pinned my arms down while the lady held my head and ran the clippers through my hair as fast as she could. Of course I was screaming with real tears falling down my face the whole time. She decided not to even it out with scissors at the end because I was squirming too much and she didn't want to cut more than my hair. Then the drive home was miserable because I had hair all over--even down my diaper--because I refused to wear that giant plastic apron.

So I went from this:

to this:

I guess I like the end result, but I'm still not going to make it easy the next time.

Big Boy Bed

Yes, that is me--asleep in my big boy bed.

Four months after getting the bed, I am now sleeping in it, not just jumping on it--thanks to my babysitter Kristina.
Kristina babysat me Friday night and when she tried to put me to bed in my crib, I let her know I wanted to sleep in my big bed. So she put me in there and I slept through the night. Mommy and Daddy tried the bed again on Saturday and I went right to sleep for the whole night. Same with Sunday. Mommy and Daddy are so glad I'm in my big bed. The only thing Mommy doesn't like is that I'm getting up earlier and earlier--6:30 on Saturday, 6:15 on Sunday, and 6:00 this morning. Hey, it's not my fault that I can get right out of bed when I wake up instead of being trapped behind bars for an extra half hour.
Now Mommy is talking about making sure Kristina is babysitting when I start potty training. Hmmmm....I think that's still a ways down the road.
